For anyone getting back into exercise

Train by how you feel today.

Short night, rough week, first workout in ages? Tavana reads your sleep, your recovery and a quick check-in, then gives you one calm suggestion a day – strength, cardio, recovery or rest. With a reason. No scores, no guilt.

Sound familiar?

Life doesn’t follow a training plan.

You used to train. Then came work, kids, an illness – or just life. Now you want back in. But most programs assume every day is a good day.

  • 6:40 am, Tuesday

    You slept five hours.

The plan says intervals. Your body says otherwise. Either you push through anyway, or you skip it and feel like you’ve failed.

  • Midweek

The stress is in your shoulders.

The workout in your calendar feels like one more thing to perform at. Nobody asks how you’re actually doing.

  • After a long break

    Your first workout in ages.

Where do you even start? Worrying about doing too much – or too little – makes it easy to put it off for one more day.

You’re not the problem. The plan just doesn’t know how you feel.

How it works

One calm suggestion a day. With a reason.

Nothing new to learn. Answer a few questions, let the app read the day and get a suggestion that makes sense.

  1. Tell us where you are

Three short questions about your goal, how and where you like to train and how often. No program starts on its own.

  2. Connect Apple Health – if you like

With your permission, Tavana reads sleep, HRV, resting heart rate and steps. The app works without it too; the suggestion is then based on what you tell it.

  3. Check in in seconds

Energy, stress, sleep and whether you feel sick. No long forms.

  4. Get today’s suggestion

Strength, cardio, recovery or rest – and why. What you train is taken into account when Tavana suggests the next day.

A day with Tavana

A short night doesn’t have to mean a lost day.

  1. Morning

    Readiness turns amber

You slept less than usual and stress is high. Instead of pretending it’s business as usual, the app says it plainly: “Tavana recommends a lighter session.” And explains why.

  2. The workout

    One set at a time

You follow the session exercise by exercise, set by set, with instructions. An exercise feels too heavy today? Switch to an easier variation on the spot. Too easy? Take a step up.

  3. Afterwards

It counts – and it shows

The workout is saved to your history and feeds into tomorrow’s suggestion. In Insights you can see how your sleep and training have looked over recent days, plus a summary of your week.

Readiness

Three states. No scores.

Tavana compares today’s signals with your own baseline – not with anyone else’s. The result is green, amber or red. Never a number to chase, never a grade on you.

  • Green

    Go as planned.

Your signals look normal for you. Train as you intended.

  • Amber

Train, but ease off a little.

Something stands out, such as short sleep or high stress. Tavana suggests a lighter version of today’s session.

  • Red

Today, recovery is the right call.

Your signals clearly differ from your baseline, or you’ve said you feel sick. Tavana then suggests recovery or rest – no catch-up needed.

During the first weeks Tavana is learning your baseline, so the suggestions get more personal the longer you use the app. Readiness is a tool for planning your training, not a health assessment or medical advice. And you always decide.

For your comeback

Built for getting back – and staying with it.

Starting again isn’t the same as starting from zero. Tavana lets you go at your own pace without losing direction.

  • Start where you are

Three questions and you’re in. No ready-made program that assumes you’re already fit.

  • Easier or harder

Exercises come with instructions and progression steps. Switch to an easier variation on a heavy day, or step up when you’re ready.

  • Rest counts

If your check-in says you feel sick, readiness turns red and Tavana suggests rest or recovery instead of pushing on.

  • It gets to know you

Your baseline builds up over the first weeks, so suggestions start from your normal – not from an average.

  • Programs when you’re ready

Journey has programs that run over several weeks. Or train entirely by today’s suggestion – it’s up to you.

FAQ

Good to know before you start

I haven’t trained in ages. Is Tavana for me?

Yes – you’re exactly who we had in mind. You start with three short questions, no program starts automatically, and you can always swap an exercise for an easier variation. The suggestion is based on how you feel today, not on where you were two years ago.

Do I have to connect Apple Health?

No. With Apple Health the suggestion can take sleep, HRV, resting heart rate and steps into account. Without it, it’s based on your check-in and what you tell the app.

Why no scores?

Because a number easily becomes something to chase or worry about. Three states are enough to adapt today’s training: green, amber or red, compared with your own baseline. And you always get to know why.

Do I have to follow a program?

No. You can train entirely by today’s suggestion. If you want a plan over several weeks, Journey has programs such as Couch to 5K or beginner strength.

Is readiness medical advice?

No. It’s a tool for planning today’s training, not a health assessment. If you have symptoms or questions about your health, talk to a healthcare professional.

What happens to my data?

It’s used to give you suggestions in the app – never for advertising. Health data is only used with your consent, and you can export your data and delete your account right in the app. Read more in the privacy policy.

What does it cost?
